I think I’ve figured out why I don’t like Martha
she’s really dependent, like really dependent.
Ever since the first episode she’s needed someone to guide her, she rarely ever proves herself on her own unless the situation is really dire.
I’d love to hear your specific examples of this. Really, I would.
She didn’t figure out what the Doctor needed her to do to save everyone from the Judoon all on her own with basically zero direction from the Doctor after “Stall them”?
She didn’t figure out how to work the MRI machine all on her own?
She wasn’t the one who found the words to the final bit of the spell to stop the carrionites?
She didn’t figure out how to save herself, Cheen and Milo in the depths of the undercity of New New York? (after getting kidnapped from 3’ from the Doctor’s side, doing what she was supposed to be doing?)
She didn’t figure out how to save the Doctor’s life in New York in the 1920’s?
She didn’t figure out how to stall and lure Lazerus to the bell tower until the Doctor could enact his plan?
She didn’t figure out how to save the Doctor’s life in 42?
She didn’t keep the Doctor safe and believing he was John Smith for two months? She didn’t contribute at all to getting the Doctor to open the watch?
She didn’t make the connection between Yana’s watch and the Doctor’s? She dind’t try to warn the Doctor? She didn’t try to save her family? She didn’t take ten seconds of instruction from the Doctor and turn that into an entire year of survival which saved the world, and probably the universe?
Please please point out where she was dependent. Dependent on him for things she could have actually done on her own, that she didn’t do on her own. Things that any other companion wouldn’t have had the exact same reactions to, questions about or would need less instruction than she would.
Specific examples, not general impressions. That would be fantastic. Thanks :)
I should have expected this..
(Not judging you, just Lack of Martha love attracts hate)
And that’s just a theory of mine, it was me trying to put a finger on what I don’t like about her. And it’s very difficult for me. My brain is screaming at itself, because I watch her and see all the reasons to love her. But theres something that makes me not like her, just like that something that makes me love Rose despite those faults of hers.
My instincts bother me too…
Okay, so I’ve been reading this up on my dash for a bit now and wanted to throw in my two cents. Here’s what bothered me...
The fact that she was the only one he was weird about only makes him a little bit more of a jerk. Just saying.
To the OP: one thing you might consider is to imagine Rose (or any other companion, if you’ve seen them) doing the exact...
This isn’t hate. This is just asking you to back up your assertions with evidence. It’s logic! :)
…BAHAHAHAHA! Have you actually watched a single episode with Martha in it? This is pretty much
I should have expected this.. (Not judging you, just Lack of Martha love attracts hate) And that’s just a theory of...
has a whiny ass voice, which I hate.
